IN A NUTSHELL
- HUGE NUMBER OF FLOATS THIS YEAR
- BOTH THAI AND EXPAT COMMUNITIES INVOLVED
- BOTH ENTHUSIASM AND FUN LEVELS WERE HIGH
LOTS OF LEPRECHAUNS SEEN IN PATTAYA
This year’s Saint Patrick’s Day can only be described as a roaring success as all got in on the fun of Ireland’s biggest party – Saint Patrick’s Day!
There was a big turnout of the both the Thai and Irish Community who started gathering about 2 pm at the Alcazar parking lot on 2nd Road, where dressing in green or like a leprechaun, then downing a few pints was the norm.
THE SAINT PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
There were over 20 floats this year and hundreds of supporters walking along side as the parade left Alcazar along 2nd Rd and down to Beach Road. Police and volunteers guided the parade safely down to Walking Street and finally to the Chaimongkol School on South Pattaya Road.
THE JUDGING OF THE BEST FLOAT
After all participants had arrived at Chaimongkol School the officials called everyone together and the first 3 place winners for best float where announced and prizes were handed to the representatives of each group and photo’s where taken by the local media.
A good time was had by all this year with the Saint Patty’s Day parade in Pattaya and there were also some big parties all around town as the celebrations went well into the night.
I can’t wait to do it all again next year, see you then.
