Perfect weather set the stage for a fun filled day of Songkraning in Pattaya and Nakluea today, with not a cloud in the sky, the sun beat down and heated everything up enough to get people out of their rooms and onto the streets to cool down with a bit of water play.
The 18th of April is Nakluea’s day to steal Pattaya’s thunder and usurp the Songkran heavy weight championship title. 10’s of thousands converged onto Nakluea Rd today for Songkran celebrations along the 3 km strip and the bars and footpaths were packed with merrymakers and party hounds.
As a prelude to tomorrow’s grand finale, The Nakluea crowd was insanely enthusiastic and well behaved with white plaster and talcum powder being the order of the day and water dowsing second choice, many people resembled walking plaster boards as the Songkran festivities gathered momentum and smiles ruled the day.
Nakluea’s success and big crowds acts as a barometer for the final day of Songkran and ushers in a overwhelming spirit of well wishes and glad tidings for the Thai New Year.
Now get ready, batten down the hatches and all hands on deck, Songkran is about to go WILD!!!!!
