ARE YOU PAYING TO MUCH

How are you going to know if you are paying too much for a item or a service, or if you are getting a bargain, you have to know how much you are really paying in terms of your own currency.

Thai’s will cheat you if they can and you have to know an items value to know if you are getting a good price – a bargain – or paying to much.

USING YOU’RE CALCULATOR

Get you calculator ready and I will show you how to convert Thai Baht to dollars.  Remember exchange rates change many times daily.

Having your calculator in your hand at all times while shopping is the single biggest money saving tool you have at your disposal from being ripped off, so use it!

EXAMPLE 1

O.k. you go to a money ex-changer and you see your currency is worth 30 Baht.

Which means $1 = 30 Baht.

You have $20 to exchange, how much should you get in exchange?

Just multiply your cash by the exchange rate to find the value in Baht.

$20 x 30 Baht = 600 Baht.

EXAMPLE 2

You have $246.82 to exchange, how much should you get in exchange?

Just multiply your cash by the exchange rate to find the value in Baht.

$246.82 x 30 Baht = 7,404.60 Baht.

HOW MUCH ARE YOU PAYING

Ok, now you have Thai Baht to pay for everything but how much are you really paying when you make a purchase? The calculations are easy if you have a calculator handy. Exchange rate is – $1 = 30 ฿

EXAMPLE 1

You go to a mini mart to buy a can of Coke. The price of the can of coke is 13 Baht, how much are you paying in dollars?

Just divide the price of the item by your exchange rate to find the value in your currency.

13 Baht ÷ 30 Baht = $0.43

EXAMPLE 2

A movie ticket cost 120 Baht, how much are you paying in dollars?

Just divide the price of the item by your exchange rate to find the value in your currency.

120 Baht ÷ 30 Baht = $4

EXAMPLE 3

You see a motor bike for sale at 43,750 Baht, how much are you paying in dollars?

Just divide the price of the item by your exchange rate to find the value in your currency.

43,750 Baht ÷ 30 Baht = $1,458.33

It’s as easy as that.

HAVING CASH IN THAILAND

There are basically two ways to have cash in Thailand

  • Bring it with you from home.
  • Use an ATM in Thailand.

THE BENEFITS OF BRINGING CASH

The beauty of bringing cash from home is that when you exchange it for Thai Baht, you lose only a small amount of value of your money in the exchange process, whereas using an ATM in Thailand, you will be charged a fee from the owner of the ATM and maybe a fee from your bank back home.

These fees’s devalue your money and make you pay more for everything!

EXAMPLE

The rate of exchange for your money is say – 30 Baht. Which means $1 = 30 Baht.

You withdrawal 3000 Baht [$100] from the ATM.  ATM and bank fee’s cost you 300 B [$10].  When you add these fee’s to the value of your money, your money is worth less –

Your $100 – $10 is now only worth $90.

Your Baht is also worth less-

3000 Baht – 300 Baht = 2700 Baht. Which means your true exchange rate is- $1 = 27 Baht.

Which should be taken into account if you want to be as accurate as possible when calculating costs.

CONCLUSION

MONEY EXCHANGER’S EXIST NOT TO CHANGE MONEY BUT TO MAKE A PROFIT FROM EXCHANGING MONEY AT YOU’RE EXPENSE, THE WHOLE BANKING SYSTEM IS CORRUPT BY TAKING MONEY FROM CUSTOMERS AND GIVING IT TO SHAREHOLDERS AND EXECUTIVES.

CUT OUT AS MANY MIDDLEMEN AS YOU CAN!
